We are back with our next post about floral pricing, which can easily become the biggest investment when it comes to your budget because there are so many of them.
We know that wedding flower pricing can be confusing, overwhelming and crazy sometimes (believe us…we went through all of those stages too), but understanding why things cost the way they do is important when planning your wedding and researching florists!
Here are a few things to keep in mind:
Budget
Your budget is paramount and should be decided before you start looking
1. Flowers have a very large price range, from less expensive flowers like carnations and gerber daisies (around $2.25 per stem at retail value) to the best of the best like garden roses and orchids ($16 + per stem retail!).
Factors like seasonality also effect flower pricing. A classic example are peonies- when they are in season they are amazing and a little less expensive than when they aren’t in season. They can be twice as expensive and not as beautiful when they are out of season!
Theme or Aesthetic
Having a clear vision of how you’d like your ceremony and reception to look is immensely helpful in narrowing down what type of package is best for you.
Venue Type
In some cases, you’ll only be able to fit a certain amount (or type) of flower arrangements. On the other hand, some venues might look a bit sparse if you don’t decorate them to a certain extent.
